Thanks to MichaelRose and CoriS for the funtimes!
It’s been up for 30 seconds in 6 days.
I’ll let you know when it’s up again!
I’m all a tis with this server. Part of it wanted to be an art gallery, part of it wanted to be a sandpit.
Until I work out how to merge the best of all worlds, both the maps and the game rules/logic/permissions we’ll just have to accept whatever appears here as the current state of play, but it’s open to change.
I’ve Uploaded new Cuboid Plugin — this is crucial if people want to protect creations they have made. This is not integral to the main Minecraft game, you won’t find it everywhere, but I think it’s nice for people to have the choice to curate and protect areas from damage. Please ask if you want it. Twitter.com/MichaelRose will do it. Or the same dude on @gmail.com
Until recently this server has been rather private and perhaps a little too paranoid (with a spawn prison and a perhaps over-restrictive whitelist). I think I’ve erred on the side of over-caution but at least I’ve got copies of everything I’ve made and the skills, now, to run a server that is safe, fun and gives room for creative expression and play.
So… at the moment you can kill and be killed.
If you want to build something beautiful remember to light it well as Creepers can explode and frustrate your progress.
Also… consider investing in arrows!
Several hours, several thousands of blocks of gold and many many cups of coffee.
Hand-built in Minecraft from a Creative Commons 3D model.
Turned into plans using Patrick Min’s Binvox & Viewvox.
Music from FM3’s Buddha Machine 2.0
I’ve built myself a nice obsidian infinity pool complete with diving board. There is also an insanely high board which I might have to post a video of later.
Life is good.
The Cuboid pluggin feels a bit like cheating but, without a creative mode, it feels like I’m just speeding my ability to find new forms of expression in this odd little world of mine.
Today’s image is a lava, diamond, and glass tube with me, encased in the middle looking up.
